What we help with

Sex Addiction Treatment in Bangkok

Most people arrive here after a long private argument with themselves. The behavior is sexual, it has stopped feeling like a choice, and the strategy so far has been to handle it alone: promises, resets, fresh resolutions, none of them holding.

Clinically this is called compulsive sexual behavior. Everywhere else it’s called sex addiction. It’s a recognized problem with a known shape: urges that build, relief when you act on them, shame afterward, and shame setting up the next round.

Shame is the main reason people wait years before getting help with this, in Thailand or anywhere else. It’s also the part treatment takes most seriously, because a problem that runs on secrecy doesn’t improve under more of it.

What this looks like

The pattern is recognizable, so it can be worked with. Common signs:

  • Hours disappear into it: planning, pursuing, and recovering take time meant for other things.
  • It escalates. What used to be enough stops being enough.
  • You’ve set rules, deleted things, sworn off. They hold for a while, then they don’t.
  • It’s costing you something you can name: a relationship, concentration at work, money, sleep, self-respect.
  • You keep going even while watching the damage accumulate.
  • The urge is loudest when life is hardest, because it works, briefly, as an escape.

If a few of those are true for you, it’s worth getting help. You don’t need a diagnosis first, and there’s no defined bottom to hit. Unmanageable is unmanageable.

What happens when you get in touch

You message or call. The first message can be short: "I need help with something sexual I can’t control" is plenty, and less is fine. Dr. Mason replies, and a first message commits you to nothing. If you come in, the first session is mostly history: what’s happening, how long, what it costs, what you’ve tried. Sessions are in English at either Sukhumvit location. What you bring up is treated as confidential, and nothing you say will be new to him.

Why the addictions specialty matters

Compulsive sexual behavior sits in the addictions field, and that shapes the work. The behavior gets mapped: when it happens, what precedes it, what it does for you, what it costs. From there the work is practical, finding concrete ways to interrupt the cycle and repairing the damage, including trust where partners are involved.

Dr. Mason is a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist as well as a licensed clinical mental health counselor in the United States, which distinguishes this from general counseling. Addiction has been a main thread of his practice for over 20 years, 14 of them in Bangkok. Sometimes a partner makes the first contact. That’s a legitimate reason to come in too.
